I love #2 on the nature side. I do my best work by hand. I find when I ride the train to work instead of driving, I reach for the idea notebook with a vengeance, especially as we pass through the savanna. I don’t even have to see it. I know it’s there, and we’re passing through it. Writing by hand, outdoors, is the best way to get me going.

Thanks Julee!
There is nothing quite like writing with a pen and paper, I worry we are going to lose that about our craft. Handwriting tells you so much more than the printed word, it tell you the passion of the Author at that exact moment. You can see how hard they pressed pen to paper or how quickly their thoughts whirled out of them as a flurry of untempered thoughts streamed from their mind to their fingers.
Sometime I have to remind myself of this. The only problem anymore is that we are short for time, we know that if we write something out with anything other than a keyboard then we will have to retype it again later. Thankfully, someone out there thought of this dilemma for us and came up with a great solution. I purchased a Pulse Pen for me and my wife. Now, I didn’t write this to pump that product up, in fact I wrote this before I had the pen, but nevertheless you should look into it. It memorizes everything you write and then transcribes, now I’ve written copious pages without having to click clack away.
At any rate, their is no substitute for the actuall written word, it’s awe inspiring to see it in your own handwriting, like your own fingerprint. Thank again Julee! Always – To The Greatness Within you!

I love this post! Especially the comment about natural selection.
